Wow! I can’t believe the holidays are right around the corner. With the start of November, I begin dreaming of holiday foods and entertaining. What new dishes will I make? How can I decorate my home to look festive without looking cheesy. This fall, I partnered with Fred Meyer to share this autumnal table inspiration. Using different varieties of chrysanthemums as a splash of color on an otherwise mostly neutral table palette. I love the vibrancy and robustness that this color adds. It really is the perfect color for the season. Mums are amazingly hearty flowers and will last for a couple weeks when cut.
I wanted my holiday table to represent my aesthetic while still feeling festive and seasonal. I chose a mostly neutral backdrop with white plates and clear wine glasses from Fred Meyer. I also used a natural colored table runner and ivory beeswax candles. I like having a tall, dramatic centerpiece that makes a statement when you walk into the room, but can be taken away when it’s time to sit down to eat. I used smaller vases of flowers to fill the rest of the table and won’t block guests’ line of vision at mealtime. Guests can each take home a small white pumpkin when they leave for the night.
Overall, the table feels uncluttered and sophisticated without being cheesy. Draw-dropping florals in the colors of the season paired on a neutral background offers a vibrant and modern holiday feel.
